CHORDPLAY QUARTET
2009 Seniors International Bronze Medalist
What you should know about Chordplay is that they love to sing (Chord…..) and they love to have fun with their music (…..play). The tunes they sing are those from the Golden Age of Song…..the 1930’s and 40’s. Reading from top to bottom on the vocal scale, they are:
Rick Anthoney, Tenor – When he isn’t singing, Rick writes poetry and is very proud of it. (his license plate reads “IM A POET”) He also has sung in four District Champion quartets and has been an International quartet competitor 18 times, most recently with Alchemy, which graced the International stage on 3 occasions.
Tom Herrick, Lead – Tom sang in The Arbors modern quartet for 40 years. They performed for three years on the Arthur Godfrey Show, worked with Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore, Bob Hope, and many others. They made numerous singing commercials, including the famous Jolly Green Giant spot (Ho! Ho! Ho!). When he isn’t singing, Tom sells real estate.
Lynn Hauldren, Baritone – Sang with Chordiac Arrest, four-time International Top Ten quartet and with the instrument accompanied show quartet, Chicago Natural Gas. You might recognize Lynn from his TV connection with a certain carpet company. He also sings their jingle (588-2300), so there’s hardly a time when he isn’t singing.
Greg Martin, Bass – Sang with the popular comedy quartet, Schizophonics and with tsunami, Illinois District silver medalist. Greg is the quartet PR man and also happens to be the most handsome member of Chordplay. He is a graphic artist and printing broker when he is not partaking of his daily swim. Greg is a closet Lead singer, but is such a good Bass that nobody will let him sing any other part.
Collectively, Chordplay has more the 161 years of quartet experience.
Gee, with that much practice, you’d think they’d have gotten it right by now.
